Senior Manager - Sports Marketing & Sponsorship Sales

2016 - present

I lead the marketing and sales for the OCPS advertising and sponsorship program.  Our assets include digital inventory on one of the largest local websites in Central Florida (typically more than 5 million page views a month) and the brands on more than 200 public schools.  

 

Some claim that our sports seasons are among the largest sporting events in Central Florida, taking place over several months at 20 venues across the county.

As the the eighth largest school district in the US, and one of the largest employers in Central Florida, we have the ability to place brands in front of a large segment of Central Florida.

Advertising Director

I managed the marketing, advertising and public relations for a medical practice and its 10 clinics around the country. While there was no typical day in the office, my work required

  • Working closely with the COO, CFO and Sales Director to optimize the business results based on the ad spending.

  • Developing and revising the weekly advertising budgets for each of the markets (a mixture of Top 10, Top 20 and Top 40 media markets) while working with an inconsistent weekly advertising budget.

  • Navigating through the launch of a new brand due to a dissolving business partnership, and opening new markets to replace revenue from offices that will be leaving the company's portfolio.

  • Conducting the company's media planning, media buying and post-campaign analysis for the radio, television, print, out-of-home and digital media advertising (PPC and content marketing).

  • Developing new content for white papers used in lead gen via the website, PPC and online affiliates.

  • Managing vendor relations with more than 60 media partners, while negotiating payment terms for past due media invoices in excess of $300,000.

The business and its owners faced several challenges including cash flow and a declining reputation.  The company eventually closed as the owners chose to pursue new ventures.

  • Developed and executed engaging and results-driven television and Internet campaigns for local and regional clients. Led cross-discipline teams to execute integrated marketing plans using Cox Media properties. Effectively used television and the Internet for strategic branding and direct response. Assisted clients by conducting post campaign analyses using web analytical tools and performance indicators to evaluate the success of campaigns.

  • Developed an e-newsletter campaign for clients and prospects highlighting the public broadcasting audience, stating the benefits in reaching the loyal public broadcasting audience, and upcoming programming.

  • Worked with NPR to prepare WMFE's website to accommodate online sponsors. This included the transition to DoubleClick's DART for Advertisers and the adoption of IAB ad units.
